As the title suggests, it was indeed a busy week. Although it was a good busy because we were learning things that actually pertained to real life and we could actually use.
The idea of Kaizen is one that I'll be using most likely for the rest of my life. I'm already using the principal on school work, web work, and just regular work. If I do something a bit different, or start up a new, little habit, that inflicts a lot of change, great things happen. For example: Today, I took the initiative to budget my time for class, dropping off a check, doing errands, going to class again, hanging out with a buddy of mine, going to a Workshop, and doing school work. Yesterday was just a big mesh of time. "Oh, guess I should to class now..." Or, "Crap... I have to go to work... Again... Joy..." I just did things as they appeared. Today though, I made a change and scheduled out my day the night before and what a difference it made. I think I killed, like, 5 birds with one stone in less than 2 hours today. It was a great feeling. And to think that scheduling my day the night before could have such a profound impact... Next up is scheduling times for different classes' school work so I can get more done in a shorter amount of time.
The other activity that impacts my work at school work is the budget that set up, and am currently keeping up to date through ClearCheckbook.com. That site is very functional, and is having more function built into it day by day I think. By budgeting, I keep track of where my money goes, when it goes, and how it goes, and I can generally manage all my expenses. The next big one that is coming up is tuition for my 2nd semester at Sarge. I have created a sort of savings "ticker" that keeps track of what I have saved for the upcoming tuition payment. And right now, its at about $400 bucks. Not to shabby eh?
